Confusion all around 8D, Binaural audio and Binaural beats
You probably have heard about the hype called 8D. Often it is a track that is produced in such a way when you listen it on your headphones you can hear the singers come from different directions. It is extremely cool and also when well done very nice to listen to. It is a new sensation and experience in music. Only it is NOT 8D or anything like it. It is something called immersive sound, spatial audio or better say tridimensional sound ( axes are 3 x y z not 8 ! ) and in this case because it is explicitly made for the use on headphones called Binaural. So if you like to to start producing this, find more tracks like this, look for binaural produced music.
There are a few side notes to this.
- Binaural produced music is in essence a normal audio file so you can get the feeling of immersive sound/music but you can not reproduce it with a normal or even Dolby Atmos speaker system.
- Binaural produced music is something else then binaural beats. Binaural beats is the frequency difference between what comes in the one ear and the other ear while using headphones. When used in the right way binaural beats can be extremely effective in influencing brainwaves and therefor your state of relaxation or focus or even agitation. It is in essence a soundhealing technique.
- Our first (ASMR) single produced in binaural and also Dolby Atmos, a track to create more Flow in your live will come out soon. Will post the link in this blogpost when it is released.
